cloth fairy doll art

Mary T's Dreamweaver MX

Week 5

This page was made using one of the page designs included in Dreamweaver MX, with a few modifications. I added a new row at the bottom of the table and merged the cells. I incorporated my favorite color scheme and coordinating background image, as well as an image from my digital collection. These two dancing faeries were inspired by the chance to see a Degas exhibit at the art institute and a vacation week at home with some time to get creative.

This week we looked at the assets panel, library items, and snippets. One of my favorite things about the assets panel was to discover the icon for colors. I liked seeing all the colors on my site, with their hex codes and color thumbnails. I have found a program called Colorschemer to be a wonderful help in selecting colors that go together well on my page. I absolutely love it, and highly recommend it. It shows me coordinating colors and I use 'em whether they are websafe or not :))

I created a couple of library items, such as the copyright notice and the link to my page, shown at the lower left of this page. I don't actually have a copyright on anything on this website, so I hope I am not committing any faux pas by using the symbol. I edited the library items a few times and Dreamweaver obligingly updated all the files containing them. I also created a snippet for the non-breaking space that I like to use and hate to type. Now the next challenge is to think up MORE snippets and library items!
