Poser 4

Week Six

By Mary T

My crazy week six is almost over and I only got the minimum done. I did try all the animation techniques and looked at a lot of different poses, though I did not save anything in a file that could be viewed on the web. I have only three tweened poses to show and I created them in three different ways.

My first model was posed using the automatic keyframing technique, and two poses from the dance set. I tweaked her feet a bit, watched the animation a while, and then arrived at this pose. I also gave her face a bit of a wistful expression.

The baby's martial arts pose came from one of the animation sets. This one was fun to watch! This was my favorite pose for the little tyke. I love his fierce expression!

I used the Poser4 female for this example, imported a BVH Dance Studio File and watched her dance. The dress did not hold up well to the dancing, and I confess to a little touchup in Photoshop before this one was finished. But what fun to watch and what a surprise to discover all this in Poser.

When I began this class, all I knew about Poser was that I wanted to get a little experience with it and find out how it worked, and I am glad to have had the chance to do just that. The program was and is challenging, but now I know enough to keep me from giving up, which was my first impulse when I first took a look at Poser by myself. I hope there is a second class in the not-too-distant future because I am sure I will be there. Thanks for a great class, Sylvia!
